Borsellino Carpentry - Cazenovia, NY

For All Your Carpentry and Home Repair Needs

I was born and raised in Cazenovia, NY.  After graduating from Cazenovia H.S. in 2001, I went into the construction field.  It started as a summer job and during the breaks while I attended Oswego State University.  I was a building custom homes and doing renovations in Cazenovia and surrounding towns with Maxwell Construction.  I quickly came to the realization that this is what I wanted to do with my life.  I moved to Massachusetts in 2003, about 40 minutes north of Boston.  There, I continued to learn and work in the trade.  I was lucky to meet and work with many skilled individuals.

Soon after moving to Mass, I started working for Don Davis Builders whose main focus was custom homes. We also did additions and renovations. There were 6 people working together at this company, from laborers to highly skilled carpenters.

From there I went to work with E.A. Morrow Woodworkers. We designed, built, painted, trimmed and installed built-in cabinets and entertainment centers. We also did a lot of repairs and renovations to historic homes.

Following that, I opened my own subcontracting business for two years, under the name Borsellino Construction. I worked with
CF Construction building custom homes, additions and renovations. We also made built in cabinets, and entertainment centers for many homes. Most of our work was in historic Concord, MA.

Then I was contacted by
Bridge and Snaith Cabinetmakers, who knew of my skill and wanted to bring me on as a cabinetmaker. I took the opportunity and worked with them for almost two years building beautiful custom kitchens and furniture. I was also the lead carpenter on installs and remodels, due to my prior experience in the field.

When the economy went for a tumble, the custom cabinet business slowed to nearly a stop. I then went back to
Don Davis Builders, which had shrunk from 6 people to now just the owner and myself. Due to the fact that there was no new construction homes being built, we focused mainly on renovations and repairs. We also built and repaired many decks.

In the spring of 2009, business again got slow, and I started working for myself.  I did a lot of work along side Charles Faucher, a master wood turner and craftsman.  We did a complete renovation to his antique post and beam farmhouse, along with my good friend Erik Morrow (E.A.Morrow Woodworkers).  After the project was completed, Charles taught me how to turn a large chunk of cherry into a bowl on a lathe.

I moved back to Cazenovia in the fall of 2009, to start over in my hometown.  While looking for work, I remodeled two bathrooms among a bunch of other small jobs.  Borsellino Carpentry evolved soon thereafter.  It's good to be home.
